Italian autumn wedding in terracotta shades
Today we travel with wedding planner Federica Tamborini from Joy Wedding to Italy, to the picturesque Borgo di Gradara, and get enchanted by her dreamy inspirations for an autumn wedding.
Together with designers Patrizia and Angela from Officina dei matrimoni and a talented team, she created a colorful variety of unique wedding details, captured in a unique imagery by stunning photographer Natalia Reznichenko of Love Notes Photo.
From Natalia: “The magic of certain places just hits you: the Borgo of Gradara with its castle and walls surround you with a dreamy atmosphere as soon as you step in.
You are in another world inhabited by princesses and knights, stories of increadible lives lived centuries ago. Piero and Francesca, Lucrezia Borgia are only a few names belonging to Italian history who have passed through here.
The terracotta colour of the wall bricks, the faded pink of the frescoes, the ivory of the ancient convent defined the palette through which we worked to create a wedding styled shoot because Gradara and, in particolar its Conventino, are the ideal location for a cosy wedding.
Villa Conventino di Gradara is the location we chose. It used to be a convent, now a wedding venue near Gradara walls. Let’s imagine the ancient structure, with its beautiful chiostro and a breathtaking view on the sea to host Anastasia and Edoardo and their few intimate friends for a civil marriage in the park of Gli Ulivi near the location, made available for the ceremony by the Gradara Town Hall.
Anastasia and Edoardo chose some rooms of Il Conventino to host friends and get ready on the day of the wedding.
We created an elegant graphic suite on Amalfi handmade paper, with a refined style, fine-art. The terracotta colour in its most delicate shades, also helped us to choose many details. The flower decorations for the ceremony and the party, the bouquet ribbons, the personalized wax gift, the dinner tables and many other details have the same common thread. The engagement ring of Francesco Ridolfi Orafo, a stunning solitaire, has been chosen by the eclectic goldsmith for its brown diamond fitting perfectly the palette mood.
First Edoardo, then Anastasia walked through the Chiostro embellished with ethereal, floating floral compositions by La Rosa Scarlatta. Then they met in the courtyard of the Villa facing the Marche hills from where you can see the coast a few miles away.
The Park of Gli Ulivi and its small amphitheater were the background of an elegant and trendy civil marriage for a few guests. A modern floral composition in the most delicate dust pink embraced the couple.
We also decided to arrange the dinner along the Chiostro corridors, we dressed an antique convent table with bright modern colours along with elaborated floral compositions placed in ancient cups and long candles in the palette tones on modern golden candleholders: a game of contrasts to make the location’s classical style a little simpler keeping the venue intrinsic value.
A rain of lights transformed the dinner party into a magical moment that ended with the wedding cake designed by Pasticceria Garden. A shining, romantic moment on the Villa terrace facing the hills and the sea: what a wonderful view !
The terrace of the Villa Il Conventino is the perfect location to spend the evening with friends: let’s go dancing! That’s what people said in Gradara hundreds of years ago.”
